Analysis on the components of compressed air system

The compressed air system is composed of the air supply end to the air consumption end as follows: air compressor→air storage tank→filter→dryer→air pipeline→air port.

Compressed air is produced by an air compressor.

Compressor—The air at atmospheric pressure is compressed and delivered to the pneumatic system at a higher pressure. This converts mechanical energy into air pressure energy.

Motor-to provide mechanical energy to the compressor, it is to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy.

Pressure switch-the pressure in the air tank is used to control the motor. It is adjusted to a maximum pressure; when this pressure is reached, the motor is stopped and another minimum pressure is adjusted. The pressure in the air tank drops to this pressure and the motor is restarted .

One-way valve—let compressed air from the compressor into the air tank, when the compressor is turned off, prevent the compressed air from flowing in the opposite direction.

Air storage tank-to store compressed air. Its size is determined by the capacity of the compressor. The larger the volume of the gas storage tank, the longer the interval between compressor operation.

Pressure gauge—Display the pressure in the gas tank.

Automatic drain-no need for manual operation, drain all water condensed in the gas tank.

Safety valve—When the pressure in the air storage tank exceeds the allowable limit, the compressed air can be discharged.

Compressed air dryer—Dries the moisture in the compressed air. The moisture in the compressed air will bring great harm to pneumatic equipment.

Main pipeline filter—In the main pipeline, the main pipeline filter must have the smallest pressure drop and oil mist separation capability. It allows dust, water and oil to be removed from the pipeline.
