The SP481Eand theSP485Eare a family of half-duplex transceivers that meet thespecifications of RS-485 and RS-422 serial protocols with enhanced ESD performance. TheESD tolerance has been improved on these devices to over +15KV for both Human BodyModel and IEC1000-4-2 Air Discharge Method. These devices are pin-to-pin compatible withSipex's SP481 and SP485 devices as well as popular industry standards. As with the originalversions, the SP481Eand the SP485Efeature Sipex's BiCMOS design allowing low poweroperation without sacrificing performance. The SP481Eand SP485Emeet the requirementsof the RS-485 and RS-422 protocols up to 10Mbps under load. The SP481Eis equipped witha low power Shutdown mode.
