Introduction of solenoid valve and troubleshooting method

1. Symptoms-the solenoid valve does not open

possible reason:

1 The coil has no voltage. 2 Incorrect voltage/frequency 3 Coil burned out 4 Pressure difference too high 5 Pressure difference too low 6 Damaged or bent armature tube 7 Impurities in the diaphragm/piston 8 Impurities in the valve seat 9 In the armature/armature tube Miscellaneous 10 Corrosion/cavitation 11 Missing parts after disassembling the solenoid valve

Troubleshooting:

1 Lift up the solenoid valve coil, do you feel resistance

2 Do not remove the coil from the valve if it is energized, otherwise the coil may be burnt.

3 Check the connection coil and wiring itself, check the relay contacts, wire connections, and fuses.

4 Compare the coil data with the installation data, and measure the working voltage of the coil. Allow 10% higher than rated voltage

5 Check the technical parameters and pressure difference of the solenoid valve. Replace the appropriate valve.

6 Check the diaphragm and/or piston ring.

7 Remove impurities, replace defective components, or replace O-rings and gaskets.

   2. The solenoid valve is partially opened

Possible reasons: 1. The pressure difference is too low. 2. Damaged or bent armature tube. 3. Impurities in the diaphragm/piston 4. Quality in the valve seat 5. Impurities in the armature/armature tube 6. Corrosion/cavitation 7. Lost parts after disassembling the solenoid valve.

Troubleshooting:

Check the technical data of the check valve and the correct pressure. Replace the appropriate valve.

Check the diaphragm and/or piston ring, replace the O-ring and gasket

Remove impurities, replace defective components, parts, or replace O-rings and gaskets.

The solenoid valve is not closed/partially closed

possible reason:

   1. Continuous energization on the coil

   2. The manual valve stem is not twisted back after use.

3 Vibration occurred in the discharge pipe. Pressure difference is too high in open position

4 The outlet pressure is sometimes higher than the inlet pressure.

5 Damaged or bent armature tube.

6 The valve plate, diaphragm or valve seat is defective.

7 The diaphragm or support plate is not round enough.

   8. Impurities in the valve plate. Impurities in the pilot hole. Impurities in the armature tube

  9. Orientation/Erosion of the main orifice/cavitation

Troubleshooting:

Lift up the solenoid valve coil, do you feel resistance?

Do not remove the coil from the valve if it is energized, otherwise the coil may burn out.

Check the connection coil and the wiring itself. Check the relay contacts and wire connections.

Check the position of the manual valve stem.

Check the technical parameters of the solenoid valve.

Check the pressure and flow conditions and replace the appropriate valve. And check the rest of the system.

Remove impurities, replace defective components, parts, or replace O-rings and gaskets.

   Three, noisy solenoid valve

possible reason:

1 Frequency noise (humming) 2 Water hammer when opening the solenoid valve 3 Water hammer when closing the solenoid valve 4 Excessive pressure difference and/or vibration in the discharge pipe

Troubleshooting:

The solenoid valve is not the problem. Check power

Check the technical parameters of the solenoid valve, check the pressure and flow conditions

Replace the appropriate valve, and check the rest of the system.

Fourth, the wire is burned out (the coil is very cold when it is energized)

possible reason:

  1, the voltage/frequency is incorrect

2, a short circuit in the coil (may be caused by moisture in the coil)

  3. The armature cannot be lifted in the armature tube:

  A. Damaged or bent armature tube;

  B. Damaged armature;

  C. Impurities in the armature tube

  4. The medium temperature is too high. 5 The ambient temperature is too high. 6 Damaged pistons and piston rings (on the EVRA servo-controlled solenoid valve).

Troubleshooting:

   Check the coil data.

If necessary, replace with an appropriate coil. Check the wiring diagram or the wiring itself. Check for large voltage changes. Allow 10% higher than rated voltage; 15% lower than rated voltage

Check for short circuits in the rest of the system. Check the wire connections of the coil.

After repairing the fault, replace the coil (make sure the voltage is correct)

Check the O-ring and the inner top nut installed on the armature tube.

Remove impurities, replace defective components, parts, or replace O-rings and gaskets.

Compare valve and coil data with installation data. Replace the appropriate valve.

It may be necessary to change the valve position. Install valve and coil data for comparison. Increase the ventilation of valves and coils.
