Newly installed air conditioner, it trips when plugged in, what's going on
This question is about the problems that occur when the newly purchased appliances are used for the first time. In fact, there are two main questions asked in this question: First, the newly installed air conditioner will trip as soon as it is plugged in. Why? The second reason is why the tripping is not caused when the zero line is removed? The House of Electricians will answer this question for you from these two aspects.

[Question 1] The newly installed air conditioner will trip as soon as the power supply is plugged in. What is the reason? How to deal with it?

The newly installed air conditioner trips as soon as it is plugged in. The reason is mainly from two aspects: on the one hand is the problem of the circuit, on the other hand is the problem of the air conditioner. In the circuit and air conditioning, there are separate reasons, so we have to analyze them separately.

1. Trip caused by circuit

Reason one, the zero line of the socket is connected to the ground wire in reverse

1. The circuit causes the newly installed air conditioner to trip as soon as it is plugged in. The first possible reason is that the neutral wire is connected to the ground wire in reverse. Then at this time, after we plug in the plug, the leakage switch will detect that the current vector sum in the circuit is not zero.

2. Because the zero wire of our plug is actually connected to the ground wire, this part of the current flows to the ground, and does not flow back to the leakage protection switch. Therefore, at this time, the leakage protection switch will trip, and it will be abnormal if it does not trip.

Handling method: At this time, we can remove the wall socket panel from the bottom box. Then check the connection of the wires on the terminals. Normally, the blue wire should be the neutral wire, which is connected to the left terminal. The yellow and green colors are the ground wire, which is connected to the upper terminal. If the color can not distinguish between the zero line and the ground wire, use the multimeter's on-off file to find the zero line and the ground wire. Finally, connect the zero wire and the ground wire to the correct sequence.

Reason two, the socket fire wire and the ground wire are reversed

1. When the fire wire on the back of the socket is reversed with the ground wire, then we plug the newly installed air conditioner into the socket panel, in fact, the zero wire and the ground wire are connected, and the fire wire is directly grounded.

2. So in this case, the leakage protection switch will also detect that the current vector sum is not zero. Because the current does not return to the leakage protection switch according to the normal circuit. So it must be tripped at this time.

Processing method: The processing method at this time is the same as above. We have to remove the socket panel and check the specifics of its wiring. The standard of the socket panel wiring is: when facing the panel, the left zero and the right fire are grounded. We find the live wire, the neutral wire and the ground wire from the leakage protection switch according to this standard, and connect them to the rear terminal of the socket panel. This completes the maintenance of the circuit.

Precaution:

For the above two cases, it is actually caused by our wiring, without strictly distinguishing the color of the wire. Therefore, when we install the home improvement circuit, we must strictly distinguish the wire color.

Conventional we can choose one of yellow, red and green for the fire wire; the light blue for the zero wire; and the yellow and green for the ground wire. In this way, according to the requirements of the color, the wiring is basically not wrong.

2. Trip caused by air conditioning

Since we are a newly installed air conditioner, it just trips when the plug is inserted into the socket, so the air conditioner is definitely not working at this time. It cannot be a trip caused by overloading the air conditioner. Then the remaining condition is to deduct a short circuit, so we have to investigate from these two aspects. =

Reason 1: There is a short circuit or leakage in the wire of the air conditioner plug. Because the air conditioner comes with a section of power cord. The head of the wire is a triangular plug, and the outer part of the wire is insulated, so it is difficult for us to see the inside with the naked eye. If there is leakage or short circuit inside this wire, it will appear to trip when plugged in.

Handling measures:

1. We first unplug the plug from the socket panel.

2. Use a multimeter to detect the air conditioner power cord. Use this to determine whether there is a short circuit inside the wire.

3. Use a shaker to measure the insulation resistance of the air conditioner power cord. The specification requires that it should not be less than 0.5 megohms. If it is less than this value, there may be leakage. In order to eliminate the problem of air conditioner power cord.

Reason two: The electrical components inside the air conditioner have short circuit or leakage. Because this is a new air conditioner, it has never been used, so there may be a short circuit of internal components, or leakage of components.

Handling method: At this time, we should be the after-sales personnel looking for the air conditioner to conduct a comprehensive investigation of our air conditioner. This is mainly to check the internal circuit of the air conditioner. Because the circuits inside the air conditioner are more professional, it is difficult for us to troubleshoot.

【Question 2: Newly installed air conditioner, it trips as soon as the plug is plugged in. Why don't you jump when you unplug the neutral wire?

The circuits in our homes are actually two wires for work, one live wire and one neutral wire. Between the neutral lines of the live wire is the phase voltage, which is 220V, in order to achieve the internal transmission of current to meet the normal work of the air conditioner.

Reason analysis: We will remove the zero line, and the leakage protection or the open circuit will definitely not trip. This is because after the zero line is removed, the family circuit does not have a normal circuit. At this time, there is only live wire in the circuit, so it is impossible to form a current loop. In this case, the leakage protection switch cannot detect the leakage current. Of course, it is impossible for the air conditioner to work at this time.

Household circuit failure and electrical failure, what are the correct handling steps?

First, we must rule out the reasons for electrical appliances. For example, if we are a newly installed air conditioner, then we need to find the after-sales service personnel of the air conditioner to check our air conditioner and eliminate the malfunction of the air conditioner.

Second, check the switch in our home. The switch here refers to the leakage switch, we must ensure that the leakage protection switch can be accurately and effectively operated, rather than frequent misoperation. This eliminates the problem of the switch.

3. Check the wiring of the circuit in the home. For example, if a plug in a socket in a home trips as soon as it is plugged in, we have to check the wiring on the back of the socket to see if it meets the requirements.
