Adam Rysanek of the University of British Columbia explained: “The working principle of air conditioners is to use air to cool down and dehumidify, but this is not environmentally friendly. The working principle of the'cold pipe' is to directly release radiation by absorbing human body radiation. Heat, so it will greatly save energy."

　　The system uses the principle of radiant cooling to inlay rectangular wall panels or ceilings with cold water. They are wrapped in a novel membrane that is airtight and can prevent moisture to avoid the formation of condensation.
