Marcon Electronics Co., Ltd. was established in 1942 by Toshiba Corporation and was acquired by Nippon Chemi-Con in 1995. The acquisition of the Marcon capacitor product line enabled United Chemi-Con to expand its already extensive line of aluminum electrolytic capacitors to include os-con, tantalum, film and multilayer ceramic, and metal oxide varistors.

United Chemi-Con, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con, was established in the United States in 1970. The company is the largest manufacturer and supplier of aluminum electrolytic capacitors in North America, with more than 8,000 unique products.
