EUPEC was established in 1990 by the merger of two divisions of Siemens and another large German electrical company (AEG) producing power semiconductor devices. In 1996, Siemens Semiconductor Group purchased a 50% stake in AEG, and EUPEC has since become a 100% subsidiary of Siemens Semiconductor.

In 1999, Siemens Semiconductor Group became independent from Siemens to form Infineon. Now EUPEC is a 100% subsidiary of Infineon, specializing in the production of IGBT modules, thyristors, Eupec SCRs, EUPEC modules, EUPEC diodes, and other power semiconductor devices, which are widely used in electrolytic aluminum, HVDC transmission, soft start, DC drive, high voltage reactive power compensation equipment.
