Founded in the late 1950s, Zenit truly became a leader in the design and manufacture of electric submersible pumps for domestic and industrial use in 1977. In 1995, Zenit was one of the first Italian electric pump manufacturers to obtain the ISO9001 certification.

Since 1999, Zeni has been engaged in safety and environmental research to meet new EU standards. The research and development work also uses advanced computer design systems for analyzing motors and fluid mechanics, which also represent the world's advanced level.
