About the built-in pressure relief valve (IPR valve) of Copeland compressors Among the built-in protection devices of Copeland compressors ZB15-ZB48, ZF06-ZF25, there is a small pressure protection device called built-in pressure relief valve (IPR valve). Below we briefly talk about the work of the built-in pressure relief valve. The built-in pressure relief valve is located between the high-pressure side and the low-pressure side of the Copeland compressor, and opens when the pressure difference between the high-pressure side and the low-pressure side exceeds 26 to 32 bar. When the built-in pressure relief valve opens, the hot exhaust gas contacts the temperature-sensing part of the motor protector, and the motor midpoint protector trips. At this time, the three-phase winding of the motor is open, and the compressor must be sufficiently cooled before the midpoint protector of the motor is reset.
ZB58KQ~ZB114KQ are not equipped with a built-in pressure relief valve. In order to ensure safe operation, a high pressure switch with a set pressure not exceeding 30 bar (gauge pressure) should be configured in the system in any application. This is a brief introduction about the pressure relief valve built into the Copeland compressor.
