Causes of vibration of air conditioning fans in computer rooms
There should be a qualified mechanical professional technician (or, hire a contract mechanical professional technician) among the staff in the data center. Should be responsible for the successful operation of the data center, so that possible problems must be considered. For example, the fan of an air conditioning unit in a computer room is a device that is more prone to problems.
To put it simply, if the computer room air conditioner does not blow out air, obviously, there is a problem. However, when maintaining the computer room air-conditioning system, you should pay special attention to subtle sounds and changes.
A refrigerant or liquid computer room precision air conditioner contains many components, including condenser coils, compressors, humidifiers and fans. We will focus on the fan.
The fan is an assembled rotating blade, it may have a closed shell, or it may not have a shell. The fan may be a blower or an exhaust device. A blower is a fan that blows air into ducts, pressure rooms, rooms or other spaces. An exhaust fan is a fan that draws air away from the room. We will focus on the blower.
Have you heard or felt the abnormal vibration and noise from the air conditioning unit in your computer room? The following is a list of fan vibration and noise problems and how to correct them. Once again, only those qualified mechanical technicians can make the final diagnosis and repair.
Fan vibration is a common fault in operation. The vibration of the fan can cause failures such as damage to the bearings and blades, loose bolts, damage to the casing and air ducts, and seriously endanger the safe operation of the fan. There are many reasons for the excessive vibration of fan bearings. If you can analyze the reasons for different phenomena and take appropriate treatment methods, it can often achieve a multiplier effect.
(1) The impeller, bearing, coupling, or V-belt drive is not calibrated. Repair note: relax, line up the above components or tighten the equipment.
(2) An unstable foundation or floor may mean a poor quality design. Repair note: You may need to start over and provide a solid, level mounting surface.
(3) Check the material outside the unbalanced fan. Many repairers will find something stuck to the fan frame. Repair note: Remove these things and check for damage.
(4) Bearing wear is difficult to diagnose, but noise or rotation difficulties are obvious signs of problems. Repair instructions: Replace the bearing and shaft.
(5) The impeller or motor is damaged. Repair note: Check and repair by qualified professionals.
(6) Broken or loose bolts or screws. Repair note: tighten or replace.
(7) The shaft is bent or the connecting shaft is worn. The biggest question is why this happens. Repair note: Replace.
(8) The impeller or driving wheel is unbalanced. Repair note: balance.
(9) The fan transmission volume exceeds the rated value. Repair instructions: reduce the fan speed.
(10) The fan speed is high or the direction of rotation is wrong. Repair instructions: reduce the speed of the fan or correct the direction of the fan.
(11) Check the vibration transmitted to the fan from a place other than the fan. Repair note: Isolate vibration or repair.
(12) Wear is the most common phenomenon in fans. The vibration of the fan rises slowly during operation, which is generally caused by blade wear and balance failure. At this time, the problem of fan vibration is generally to be dynamically balanced after the furnace is shut down.
The facilities in each data center should be kept in good condition. Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections should be pre-selected to ensure high availability of the data center. Everyone who comes and goes to the data center should be responsible for the normal operating hours, and should maintain the role of ears, eyes, and noses, find abnormal problems in time, and report them in time to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the data center.
