Gear pump is a kind of hydraulic pump widely used in hydraulic system, also known as hydraulic gear pump, which is generally made into a quantitative pump. There are many kinds of gear pumps, which can be divided into the following types according to different classification methods.
1. Classification
1.According to the tooth profile curve, it can be divided into involute gear pump and cycloid gear pump.
According to the form of gear meshing, it can be divided into external meshing gear pump and internal meshing gear pump.

3.According to the form of tooth surface: it can be divided into spur gear pump, helical gear pump, herringbone gear pump and circular arc gear pump.
4. According to the gear stages: it can be divided into single-stage gear pump and multi-stage gear pump.

5. According to the number of meshing gears: it can be divided into two gear type gear pump and multi gear type gear pump.
2. Advantages and Disadvantages of Gear Pump
As a commonly used hydraulic pump, gear pump can basically meet the needs of the market and work requirements. It has both advantages and disadvantages.
2.1 Advantages of Gear Pump
The gear pump has the advantages of simple and compact structure, small volume, light weight, good processibility and low price.
In terms of performance, the gear pump has strong self suction, is insensitive to oil pollution, has a large speed range, and can withstand impact loads. Another advantage of gear pump is that it works reliably. If there is a problem, it is convenient to maintain.

2.2 Disadvantages of Gear Pump
However, the gear pump also has some shortcomings. For example, because the end cover and the grooves between the teeth of the gear form many fixed sealing working cavities, it can only be used as a quantitative pump, not a variable displacement pump. In addition, the radial force of the gear pump is unbalanced, and the flow pulsation is large
High noise and relatively low efficiency.
3. Matters Needing Attention
Check the tightness of all pipeline flanges and joints before startup.
Turn the coupling without friction and collision sound.
The pump shall be filled with delivery liquid for the first start.
Before starting, fully open the valves in the suction and discharge pipelines, and it is strictly forbidden to star the valve when it is closed.
After verifying the rotation direction of the motor, start the motor.
