How to choose the dryer of screw air compressor

As everyone knows, when the screw air compressor is used for air supply, it is also necessary to configure relative post-processing purification equipment, because the compressed air directly discharged from the air compressor is not pure. The post-processing and purification equipment of screw air compressors mainly include air storage tanks, dryers and filters. In the dryers, it can be divided into two types: refrigerated dryers and adsorption dryers. What is the difference between the two? What about the difference and the industry?

The refrigerated dryer can eliminate 99% of the condensed water in the compressed air, which is suitable for most industries' production gas demand. However, for industries with high demand for air, such as medicine, precision instruments, food and other industries, refrigerated dryers alone may not be able to guarantee the quality of compressed air, so an adsorption dryer is required at this time.

The pressure dew point of a refrigerated dryer is between 3°C and 10°C, and it is greatly affected by the intake air temperature. Every time the intake air temperature rises by 5°C, the refrigeration efficiency will drop by 30%, and the pressure dew point will also increase significantly . In addition, the refrigerated dryer must consume a certain amount of electricity and cooling water.

The pressure dew point of the adsorption dryer is between -20°C and -70°C, and the alumina molecular sieve in the adsorption dryer can be used to absorb water vapor to a greater extent. However, in general, it is not recommended to use the adsorption dryer alone, because the use of the adsorption dryer alone increases the workload and reduces the life of the dryer.

Whether it is a refrigerated dryer or an adsorption dryer, its main function is to eliminate the condensate in the compressed air system and ensure that the compressed air used is pure and dry to meet the needs of major production gas.
