How to Replace Air Conditioner Fan Blade?

Air conditioner is also known as air conditioning machine. It is a machine that manually adjusts and controls the temperature, humidity, cleanliness, speed and other parameters of the ambient air in the building. It generally includes cold source / heat source equipment, cold and hot medium transmission and distribution system, terminal device and other auxiliary equipment, such as water pump, fan and pipeline system. The specific parameters of the air distribution device are used to meet the target temperature of the air.

Air conditioning can bring freshness to every family in hot summer. However, it is easy to accumulate dust after using it for a long time. So, regular cleaning of the air conditioner can not be ignored. In addition, if the condensing device of our air conditioner makes noise or the fan blade is damaged, we need to know how to remove or replace the air conditioning blade to solve the problem.

1. Method of Replacing Fan Blade

Make sure the power supply of the air conditioner is disconnected. Remove all screws that secure the top grille of the unit and flip the grille to expose the motor and fan blades. Loosen the fixing screws on the fan blade with an adjustable wrench and pull the blade off the motor shaft.

Replace with new blades. Align the set screw with the flat part of the motor shaft and tighten the screw. Realign the grid, motor and blades and secure with screws. Be sure to secure the motor wires and reinstall any panels as required. Be sure to operate with the power off.

2. Causes and Solutions of Non Rotation of Air Conditioner’s External Fan

2.1 Cause 1: Poor Contact of the Main Control Switch

Solutions: when the poor contact of the switch occurs we’d better use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the main control switch contact first. When the resistance is too large or zero, it is necessary to repair or replace the main control switch.

2.2 Cause 2: Damage of The Outdoor Fan Motor

Solutions: if the outdoor fan motor of the air conditioner is damaged, it is easy to cause the fan not to rotate. When troubleshooting, we can only replace the motor of the fan.

2.3 Cause 3: Loosening of The Fixing Screw

Solutions: the screws between the fan blades of the motor are loose. Its precursor is that the running noise of the fan becomes more and more loud, and the working efficiency of the air conditioner decreases when it works. Meanwhile, the fan of the outdoor unit will not turn at all. Therefore, in order to avoid safety accidents, the screws of the air conditioner need to be tightened again.

2.4 Cause 4: Damage of The Outdoor Fan Capacitor

Solutions: The damage of the fan capacitor of the outdoor unit will directly affect the operation of the air conditioner fan. During maintenance, we must check the capacitance at first. Determine whether the fan capacitor is damaged. If so, replace a capacitor of the same specification.
