Solar driven adsorption refrigeration

Solar driven adsorption refrigeration
Shanghai Jiaotong University Wang Ruzhu and other nearly 20 years of painstaking research "adsorption refrigeration adsorption mechanism, cycle construction and thermal design theory" won the second prize of the 2014 National Natural Science Award.

In a building, the power consumption of refrigeration and air conditioning can account for about 40% of the total energy consumption. If these heat energy can be converted into cold energy, and zero power consumption cooling can be achieved, significant energy saving and emission reduction effects will be produced. Adsorption refrigeration provides a possibility for this, but there are bottlenecks in the three interrelated and restrictive links of adsorbent-cycle-thermal design theory. After z *, the efficiency of adsorption refrigeration has been relatively low, and it is difficult to operate stably and efficiently .

The new technology developed by Wang Ruzhu's team on composite adsorption, mass return cycle, and adsorption bed coupled heat and mass transfer enhancement has effectively improved the stability and thermal efficiency of the cycle and achieved a rapid refrigeration process. On the basis of these research results, they combined the adsorption refrigeration and solar energy to invent the solar-driven adsorption refrigeration system.
