The impact of excessive or small pump flow on the chiller

The chiller may have various types of failures. Why does the water pump fail with too much or too little flow?

In fact, whether the flow of the water pump is too large or too small, it will have a certain impact on the operation of the chiller, so it is not a good thing that the flow is too large or too small.

There are many reasons why the pump flow is too small. First of all, when the pump flow is too small, you should observe the pump flow and head data marked by the pump to see if the pump is matched incorrectly. It is not surprising that the quality of industrial ice water machines produced by some refrigeration companies may be substandard.

Secondly, if the parameters such as the flow rate and head of the water pump match the specification data of the water pump required by the chiller, then you should check whether the pump has a long service life, whether the pump is excessively worn or damaged, and whether the pipeline is damaged or leaked. Of course, it is also possible that the parts have not been used for a long time, the parts are rusted, oxidized, and the inside of the pump may be blocked by foreign matter (the water pipe may also be blocked by foreign matter).

Some people think that the reverse rotation of the water pump motor will result in too little flow and engine damage, but it is not true. The reverse rotation of the motor at a certain speed will not cause damage to the pump and motor, and a small flow will basically not It is caused by reversal. In the case of reversal, it is difficult for the pump to discharge water.

Finally, if the flow rate of the water pump is too small, we should also consider whether it is the setting of the chiller system.

The flow of the water pump is too large. In addition to the problem of the setting and operating data of the chiller system, you should also consider whether the head, flow and other parameters of the chiller pump are relatively large and exceed the normal demand range. This problem is believed to be the chiller The manufacturer’s problem is that the unmatched pump is used in the chiller.

It is not a good thing for the pump flow to be too small or too large. Many users simply pursue the pump flow, thinking that a large pump flow will make the chiller have a good cooling effect and a large cooling capacity, but it is not the case-the power of the pump will increase the pressure of the chiller. It may also cause many other failures and even reduce the working life of the chiller.
