In 1988, we switched to oil-free generation of compressed air and reduced pressure. Since then, we have been recording compression. Hochwald operates two tip filling systems in the factory. They are the main system for generating compressed air, which is used to fill the company's own mineral water at the source, as well as fruit drinks from other well-known manufacturers and brands. This is based on the then s*chuang PET filling system that Hochwald used in his work. Bernd Zang said: "We fill the beverage with protective gas, so no preservatives are needed."

Three oil-free screw compressors with a motor power of 90 kilowatts have been used to provide the factory with 7 bar production air. Today, the 110 kW Ultima compressor performs this task. Each air end of the speed-controllable Ultima compressor is independently driven, while the two air ends of the oil-free screw compressor used in the past are driven by a single motor, which will distribute the power to the low pressure side and the high pressure through the gearbox side. The intelligent digital gearbox continuously adjusts the speed to adjust the rated power according to the compressed air requirements.
This drive technology using a high-efficiency permanent magnet motor was developed by CompAir's Simmern factory and can reach an unprecedented power range. Compared with traditional compressors, the water cooling system in this type of compressor also functions more effectively through the waste heat of the central components of the air end, motor, and converter. In turn, more heat can be recovered and used. As the overall energy balance improves, including heat recovery, it is no longer just the compressor itself operating efficiently.
