Video: Refrigerated Cabinets / Refrigerated Display Cases Not Cooling: Reasons and Solutions

Figure 1: Refrigerated display cabinets.
Refrigerated display cabinets are common in supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. They are an important tool for
merchants to display goods and can help keep food fresh for a long time. However, sometimes the display cabinets are
not refrigerated, which affects the quality of the goods and the profits of the merchants.
This article will introduce the common reasons and solutions for display cabinets that are not refrigerated to help
merchants solve the problem in a timely manner and ensure the quality of goods and merchants' profits.
1. 11 Reasons Why the Refrigerated Cabinet is Not Cooling and Solutions
1.1 Power Problem
If the power plug or socket of the refrigerated cabinet is damaged, or the voltage is unstable, the refrigerated
cabinet may not work properly.
Solution: Check the power supply. Check whether the power supply has power. If it is not cooling due to a power
problem, please replace the plug or socket, or use a voltage stabilizer to ensure normal power supply.
1.2 Compressor Problem
The compressor is the core component of the refrigerated
cabinet. It is responsible for compressing and circulating the refrigerant to achieve the refrigeration effect. If
the compressor is damaged or not working properly, the refrigerated cabinet will not cool.
At this time, please listen to whether there is a "buzzing" sound from the compressor. If there is no sound, it
means the compressor is not working.
Solution: Contact after-sales service. If there is a problem with core components such as the compressor and
evaporator that causes no cooling, please contact after-sales service and have professional maintenance personnel
come to repair it. Do not disassemble it yourself to avoid causing greater damage or danger.

1.3 Evaporator Problem
The evaporator is a kind of metal pipe that is responsible for changing the refrigerant from a liquid to a gaseous
state and removing the heat. If the evaporator has too much frost or is damaged, the cooling effect will be
affected.
Solution: Clean the frost layer on the evaporator regularly, and check whether there are holes or loose connections
in the evaporator.
If the refrigerated cabinet is not cooling due to excessive frost on the evaporator, please unplug the power and let
the frost melt naturally, or use a hair dryer to speed up the melting, wipe away the moisture with a dry cloth, and
then power the refrigerated cabinet on again.
1.4 Fan Problem
The fan is an electric device that blows the cold air generated
by the evaporator throughout the refrigerated cabinet and keeps the air circulating. If the fan is damaged or
clogged, the cold air will not be distributed evenly and the temperature of some spaces in the refrigerated cabinet
will be too high or too low.
Solution: Check whether the fan is working properly and clean the dust or debris on the fan. If the fan is blocked
or damaged, please use a small brush or vacuum cleaner to clean the dust or debris on the fan, or replace the fan
with a new one.

1.5 Thermostat Problem
The thermostat is an electronic device that is responsible for controlling the on and off of the compressor and fan
according to the set temperature and maintaining a constant temperature. If the thermostat is damaged or set
incorrectly, it will cause the temperature to be too high or too low and affect the cooling effect.
Solution: Check whether the thermostat is working properly and adjust to the appropriate temperature according to
the season and type of food.
1.6 Refrigerant Issues
Refrigerant is a special liquid that evaporates at high temperatures and liquefies at low temperatures, thereby
taking away heat and achieving a cooling effect. If the refrigerant leaks or is insufficient, the refrigerated
cabinet will have poor cooling effect or no cooling.
Solution: Leakage may be caused by problems such as broken pipes, loose connection, or aging refrigerant. If a leak
is found, the location of the leak needs to be found and repaired before adding the refrigerant.
1.7 Pipe Blockage
The pipes in the refrigerated cabinet may be clogged, which will cause poor cooling.
Solution: Check whether the pipes of the refrigerated cabinet are blocked or damaged. If so, find the problem and
clean or replace the damaged parts in time.

1.8 Clogged Capillary Tube
When the capillary tube of the refrigerated display cabinet is clogged, it will cause no cooling. When the capillary
tube of the refrigerated display cabinet is blocked, the refrigerant will not be able to enter the evaporator to
absorb heat for cooling, and ultimately the temperature in the refrigerated display cabinet will not be lowered.
Solution: If the capillary tubes of the refrigerated display cabinet or the dry filter are clogged, their outlets
will generate heat. When encountering this kind of situation, please ask someone professional to perform repairs.
1.9 Excessive Ice Accumulation
If you find excessive ice accumulation in or around your refrigerated cabinet, this is one of the reasons that cause
no cooling.
Solution: At this time, you can turn off the power and open the refrigerated cabinet, leave it for a period of time,
and use a damp cloth to clean the inside and the evaporator surface and water outlet to remove excessive ice
accumulation.

1.10 Too High Ambient Temperature
The cooling effect of the display cabinet is affected by the ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is too
high, the cooling effect of the display cabinet will decrease. Therefore, when installing display cabinets, you
should choose a location with good ventilation and a suitable temperature to avoid exposure to sunlight or being
close to heat sources.
Solution: If the display cabinet is not cooling, you should also check whether the ambient temperature is too high.
The ambient temperature can be reduced by adjusting the position of the display cabinet or installing ventilation
equipment to improve the cooling effect of the display cabinet.
1.11 Used for Too Long
If the display cabinet is used for too long, the refrigeration system may be aged or damaged, thereby affecting the
cooling effect of the display cabinet.
Solution: In order to ensure the cooling effect of the display cabinet, you should regularly maintain it. You can
regularly clean the dust and dirt inside and outside the display cabinet, check whether the refrigeration system is
normal, and replace aging or damaged parts in time to extend the service life of the display cabinet.
