1. FANUC Fan Alarm Summary

1.1 FANUC Spindle amplifier SPM

1. The system alarm displays 9056, and the FANUC spindle amplifier alarm code displays 56.
Alarm content: The cooling fan of the SPM control circuit part stops (the fan inside the spindle drive fails).

Causes and solutions:
(1)Control board installation problem. Please install the control board securely. Because this alarm may be issued when the connector of the control board and the power board is disconnected.
(2) Please replace the SPM or the cooling fan inside the SPM.

2. The system alarm displays 9088, and the spindle driver alarm displays code 88.
Alarm content: SPM radiator cooling fan stops. (Spindle drive external fan failure) Solution: When the alarm occurs, please replace the SPM radiator cooling fan.

3. The system alarms displays 9001, and the spindle drive alarm displays 1.
Alarm content: The motor is overheated. The internal temperature of the motor is higher than or equal to the standard temperature, and the motor temperature is too high.

Causes and solutions:
(1)When this alarm is displayed during the cutting process (the motor temperature is too high).
1)Confirm the cooling state of the motor, the motor cooling fan, and the cooling system for liquid-cooled motors.
2)Please confirm the processing conditions again. (Cutting conditions: cutting amount, tool, material)

(2)When this alarm is displayed under light load (the motor temperature is too high).
1)Frequent acceleration/deceleration: Please use it under the condition that the average value of output power including acceleration/deceleration operation is less than or equal to the rated value.
2)The inherent parameters of the motor are not set correctly.

(3) When the motor temperature is low and the alarm is displayed.
1)The feedback cable of the spindle motor is faulty, or the motor overheating signal cable is disconnected or has poor contact. Please replace the feedback cable.
2)The parameters are not set correctly.
3)The control printed circuit board is faulty. Please replace the control printed circuit board or the spindle amplifier.
4)If the motor (internal temperature sensor) is faulty, please replace the motor.

1.2 FANUC Power amplifier PSM

1. The system alarm displays SV443, SP9059, and the alarm display 2 on the power supply module PSM.
Alarm content: PSM internal exhaust fan failure. (Power module internal fan failure)
Solution: Replace the fan and the side plate.
443 Alarm: PSM internal exhaust fan stopped. The internal exhaust fan of the β series SVU fails.

2. The system alarm displays SV606, SV611, SP9113, the alarm display A on the PSM, and the alarm display b3 on the SPM.
Alarm content: PSM cooling fan stops.

3. The system alarms SV431, SP9058, and 3 is displayed on the PSM.
Alarm content: The PSM main circuit is overloaded, and the main circuit radiator is overheated.
431 Alarm: PSM overheated, β series SVU overheated.

1.3 FANUC Servo amplifier SVM

1. The system alarm displays SV444, and the servo drive alarm displays 1.
Alarm content: SVM internal exhaust fan failure.

The αi servo system can make a warning status report before the following target alarms.
When the warning state occurs, it will be reported to the PMC for confirmation. For example, this signal can be used by the machine tool to make the tool retract from the start of the warning to the servo alarm.
Servo amplifier warning status and their related warning signals F93#7=1 (SVMRN4): the time from the warning status signal generation to the alarm occurrence is 1 minute.

Solution:Confirm the status of the fan (operation status, mechanical clamping, power supply, fan failure). If it is broken, please replace it.

2. The system alarm displays SV601, and the servo drive alarm displays F.
Alarm content: SVM cooling fan stops (servo drive external fan failure).

2. Common Alarms of FANUC Servo Drives

2.1 SVM Displaying 8., 9., A.

Alarm content: L, M, N axis inverter IPM alarm.

1. 449 Alarm: (1)The SVM's IPM (Intelligent Power Module) detected an alarm.
(2)The IPM (Intelligent Power Module) of the α series SVU detected an alarm.
Solution:
(1)Remove the motor power line. If there is an alarm, replace the unit.
(2) If there is no alarm, check the phase-to-phase resistance of the external power line and ground insulation.

2. 603 Alarm: INV IPM alarm (OH), IPM detected overheating alarm.
Solution:
(1)Check the cooling fan of the radiator.
(2)Whether the use of the motor is within the rated range.
(3)Check ambient temperature.
(4)Replacing the unit.

2.2 SVM Displaying b, c, d

1. 438: Overcurrent alarm. L, M, N axis inverter, and motor current abnormal.
Solution:
(1)Confirm the servo parameters.
(2)Confirm whether the motor generates an alarm during acceleration and deceleration, and can appropriately extend the acceleration and deceleration time. Increase the rapid acceleration and deceleration time constants 1620=112---224 and 1621=16, cutting acceleration and deceleration time constant 1622=48---56---64.
(3)Remove the motor power line. If there is an alarm, replace the unit.
(4)If there is no alarm, check the phase-to-phase resistance of the external power line and ground insulation. (Point 3, 4 are the same as alarm 449)
(5)When the machine tool is powered on and No. 438 alarms, the motor current is too high. Reinitialize Servo parameter or there is a problem with SVM.
(6)When the machine tool speed is high, the load is large. The faster the speed is, the greater the current is. Check at high speed to see if there is a problem with no load.

SVM Displaying 8, 9, A

Alarm No. 600: L, M, N axis inverter DC LINK current is abnormal. Alarms from No. 600 to No. 613 are servo alarms.

Amplifier Displaying P

FANUC Amplifier Alarm 604: Communication between amplifier modules is abnormal.
A “P" is displayed on the amp, maybe the feedback cable is wrong, or both amps are broken.
